Incremental Encoder with hollow shaft

This kind of incremental encoders turn the mechanicals magnitudes as “THE rotating speed” or “position” into an electrical signal. It uses an incremental slotted disk open to the passage of a light beam. The number of slits DETERMINES the encoder resolution, such that the rotation speed will be calculated by the number of pulses per unit time. The exact real value determination is decisive for the regulation precision.
